10 things every fashionable woman in her 20s should have

I’m in my 20s and we can all agree that we still have our whole lives ahead of us. There’s plenty of time to pick up that perfect designer dress, find your dream apartment, dream guy (the one you marry..lol) and so on. Our 20s should be for career, discovering yourself and most importantly your style.

Now talking about your style, there are a few important items you should have on lock by now. The great news here is, unlike that designer dress and dream apartment, these items are attainable, no matter how small your paycheck may be. These are also items that will be put to use way more often then you think and hopefully usher us into our 30s.

  • A go to interview outfit

You’ll most likely start having job interviews in your 20s and you want to have that safe interview look that you can always fall back to. It should include even the shoes you decide to wear. Avoid sandals go for either pumps or flats.

  • A time piece

I mean you’re in your 20s, this is a necessity. You don’t need many watches, so just one that’s really stylish and you can wear every time and to every place and you don’t need to spend a fortune on it.

  • A makeup kit

You don’t need to be a make-up artist to own one. This kit should contain the major things: an eyeliner, a foundation and powder(your colour), a brow pencil, lipstick and lipgloss( one is enough), mascara, eyeshadow kit( nothing major, should contain just neutral colours). This is basically all you need to look good for most occasions. Nobody will complain if you want to go a little extra.

  • A little black dress

Infact every woman needs this. An LBD will have all your bases covered whether you’re heading to the club, a trendy restaurant, or girl’s night.

  • A forever bag

You should have one statement bag in your closet. Statement doesn’t mean you should break the bank, but perhaps something that will never go out of style. Stick to neutral colors this way you’ll get the most use out of it.

  • A personal scent

Even if you’re not a fragrance girl, find a lotion, oil or body wash that’s perfectly you. Most times people will remember you with your scent.

  • A hot date night look

I mean you’re in your 20s, you’ll surely go on dates most of them might even be impromptu so you want to have a look you can always fall back to. I’m not saying wear same thing on every date but you want to have an idea of what you want to look like at the back of your mind. A full-proof look ready to go on the hanger (accessories included!) will eliminated those I’m-so-nervous jitters.

  • Different shoes

The four shoes you must have are: a pair of sneakers, your pumps and flats for a more corporate/official look and then your party shoes(heels). Need I say more? Stick to neutral colours so you can wear them with anything.

  • Denims

Denim is that one outfit that will go with anything. It’s perfect for that casual look and you can always dress it up depending on the occasion. You can hardly ever go wrong with denim except for an interview of course and ehmmm maybe weddings..lol

  • Your signature accessory

Accessories I never do without are rings, bracelets, watches and sunglasses. You may say that’s a lot. While I think wristwatches are a necessity, your additional accessory maybe an earring you never take off or you just can’t do without earrings. If you’re Nigerian you can agree sunglasses are a necessity too. Some people too like to wear matching earrings, bracelets and neckpieces. Just have something that screams, You!

I hope this helped somebody. All pictures are not mine.
